IOTlab is the it4e product and service division for the acquisition, visualization and control of process data via the Internet. IOTlab comprises modular hardware and software modules, which we can either offer in cost-effective standard packages or put together according to customer requirements.
R&D project: WebControlPanel
With WebControlPanel (WCP), we are developing a web application that gives users direct access to their process technology devices and systems from anywhere in the world and enables simple and convenient monitoring and control of the devices in work groups.
The WebControlPanel project is funded by the European Union as a pioneering high-tech research project. The aim of the current R&D project is to develop WCP to market maturity and to use it in the first industrial applications.
In order to connect devices quickly and easily to WCP, the project is implementing OPC-UA with the Companion Specification LADS for laboratory devices as the communication standard between WCP and the devices.
Scalable, fail-safe and cost-effective services from various cloud providers are available for storing and processing data in the cloud. In order to meet the high security requirements of the industry, the data is encrypted at device level, sent to the cloud via an additionally encrypted internet connection and stored there in encrypted form. Decryption only takes place locally at the user's location (end-to-end encryption).
