IOTlab is the it4e product and service division for process data acquisition and control via the internet. IOTlab comprises modular hard- and software components which we can offer as cost-saving standard packages or compose individual configurations adjusted to special customer demands.
F&E Project: WebControlPanel
With WebControlPanel (WCP), we are developing a web application that provides users worldwide with direct access to their process engineering devices and systems, enabling simple and convenient monitoring and control of devices within workgroups.
The WebControlPanel project is funded by the European Union as a pioneering high-tech research initiative. The goal of the current F&E project is to develop WCP to market maturity and deploy it in initial industrial applications.
To ensure that devices can be connected to WCP quickly and easily, OPC-UA with the Companion Specification LADS for laboratory devices is implemented as the communication standard between WCP and the devices.
For data storage and processing in the cloud, scalable, fail-safe, and cost-efficient services from various cloud providers are available. To meet the high security requirements of the industry, data is encrypted already at the device level, transmitted via an additional encrypted internet connection, and stored in encrypted form in the cloud. Decryption takes place only locally on the user side (end-to-end encryption).
